Smart LUGGAGE Bag That Follows You!!!

Bag that tech!Would you want your luggage to follow you around, instead of having to carry it by yourself? Or better yet, what do you think of a suitcase you can ride around like a scooter? Imagine if your travel bag could mount your laptop, charge your smartphone, display its own weight and locate itself at anytime, anywhere! If you are looking to take the ‘lug’ out of luggage and don’t mind some security guards chasing after you at the airport as you zip past on your baggage, check out these 7 quirky, yet smart luggage options for the techie traveller in you.
Modobag
Let’s start with the quirkiest of them all. Modobag is a suitcase that can literally take you for a ride. Made by an indiegogo startup with the same name, Modobag acts your personal transport in and around the airport. Besides its motoring capabilities, this smart carry-on features dual USB charging ports and GPRS-GSM tracking. The bag can travel at speeds of 5 MPH in indoor settings, while it can go upto 8 MPH outdoors. Modobag also gives you easily accessible storage options for your gadgets, with quick stow pockets for laptops, phones and tablets. The bag itself comes with quick charging capabilities, which the company claims can charge the luggage upto 80% in 15 minutes. When connected to its companion app, Modobag can track its own location and provide proximity alerts on your smartphone.
Bluesmart
Bluesmart is another smart luggage maker that claims to have made the world’s first smart, connected carry-on bag. The Bluesmart One is a sophisticated looking suitcase with loads of smart features built into it. The bag has a built-in digital scale which would be extremely handy if you want to weigh your bag without the discomfort of carrying around a separate luggage scale. It also features app based location tracking along with a battery charger that claims it can charge an iPhone 6 times over. One of the coolest features of the Modobag though is its ability to remotely lock the bag. Although the bag sounds like the ultimate travelling companion, it should be noted that because it houses an in-built battery (like most smart cases), it might raise some unnecessary suspicion during security checks.
COWAROBOT R1
Another indiegogo startup project, the COWAROBOT R1 is an autonomous smart suitcase that wheels itself by your side, avoiding any obstacles in its path. The R1 features patent-pending Co-Eye depth sensors, along with a set of sonar and cliff detection sensors to avoid obstacles and resist falls. It not only frees your hands, but also houses all the other smart features you would look for in an intelligent suitcase. The bag connects to an app, allowing users to remotely track its location, or lock the bag incase it gets lost. In addition, the R1 can also act as a portable power bank. With just a tap on the accompanying R1 bracelet, this robotic suitcase can chart a course and find its way back to you if it ever gets lost. The bracelet can also be used to unlock the bag’s keyless co-smart intelligent lock.
Trunkster
Trunkster is a zipperless suitcase with a rolltop door for quick access. Designed to handle the perils of luggage handling, Trunkster is durable and water resistant. The bag houses a 10,400 mAh battery which helps travellers charge their devices on the go. You can also upgrade this battery with your own portable power bank with a higher capacity. As is norm in all smart bags, Trunkster also features an in-built weighing scale built into the cargo handle with a tiny display. The display is what stands out in this one, as most bags with digital scales display their weights on an accompanying smartphone app. Trunkster is also easily traceable with GSM coverage. The GSM unit is removable, so it can even be shared with family and friends, or left behind when needed.
